Established about five years ago,
Buchman-Modiin is attracting a large influx of English-speaking Olim
from around the globe. Also moving in are many Israelis who
themselves wish to be part of the Buchman experience. Buchman is
located at the southern end of Modiin. Buchman is comprised of two
sections – the older area called Hashvatim (North) and newer area
called Moriah(South). Moriah while under construction has seen many
families move into several of its projects. Hashvatim contains only second hand homes while in
Buchman Darom there are still new homes available.
The population in Buchman and in all of Modiin is a mixture of both
religious and secular. Prices in Buchman today range from
approximately 1,200,000 NIS for a 4 room apartment to 3,500,000 NIS
for the more luxurious villas. Prices also depend on which street
and which builder.Buchman is still in its infancy and does not
yet have many shops, schools, parks, shuls, or medical clinics.
These are all on the way and coming in the very near future. The
remainder of Modiin already posses these facilities as well as a
large number of cultural and entertainment centers. The Azrielli
Mall, central bus station and train station are in the process of
being built in the center of Modiin.
The city of Modiin, now approximately ten years old, is currently
home to about 60,000 residents with plans to ultimately house
240,000. This will make it one of the largest cities in the country.
Just a 30-minute drive away from Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, Modiin is
centrally located, making it an attractive choice for young
professionals and their families.
The train was completed in April 2008 and connects Modiin to both
Tel Aviv and the North. The train to Jerusalem is expected to be
completed in the next few years. The aforementioned cultural and
transportation centers will influence the success of the real estate
market in Modiin in general and Buchman in particular. Please check
