Ilan Braidman's Music Studio

Ilan
Braidman is a well known guitarist in Modiin. His career includes
playing guitar for Yardena Arazi and Dana International and many other
top Israeli singers. I spent a morning with Ilan in his studio.
Ilan is married to Osnat who is a choreographer
and works with the Modiin singing and dancing group. Osnat and Ilan have two
children, Ela who is 12 years old and Yoav who is 9 years old. Ilan and
Osnat moved to Modiin as soon as Modiin was established, over ten years
ago. They lived in Emek Ayalon. They moved to Buchman because they were
looking for a larger home and a house that they could create a music
studio. They decided to buy a Plasim house close to Yisaschar Street.
They are generally happy with the Plasim developer but they are
disappointed with the drainage problem that has troubled the project.
Ilan likes Buchman because it is a prestigious quiet neighbourhood with
residents that are f
inancially
comfortable. He likes the architecture and because Buchman is
built on a hill the air is sweet and fresh. Ilan told me that the
problems of Buchman is mainly the lack of facilities including shopping
centres, banks, medical centres and petrol stations. Ilan is happy that
there is a mixture of secular and religious residents in Buchman.
The Braidman's shop usually at Ramy Levy in Shilat or Super Sol Deal in Yishpro centre. Ilan's favourite street in Buchman is Yosef Street.
Ilan began playing guitar at the age of 10. He then went on to
high school at the Academy of Music in Jerusalem. He took Bagrut in
classical guitar. His army days were spent in the army music corp and
served with the famous Yazpan and Dafna Dekel. After the army Ilan
travelled to Montreal in Canada to study with Greg Clayton the famous
jazz guitarist. He also played in the Montreal music festival.
Once Ilan
returned to Israel he was the guitarist for many famous artists
including: Yardena Arazi, Uri Fineman, Baldy Olier, Dana
International, Yehoram Gaon and Moshe and Orna Datz. He also plays in
recording studios and on many television shows.
Ilan moved to Modiin and opened a guitar studio and has been teaching
guitar ever since. With
his wife Osnat they formed the Modiin singing group. Osnat is the
choreographer and Ilan is the musician. Originally in Emek Ayalon the
studio was one small room. Today the Buchman studio has two rooms and
was designed specifically for that purpose and has a superb acoustic
sound. The studio has expanded to drum lessons, voice coaching, ensemble
playing, recording studio and a guitar and drum shop. Bnei Akiva use the
recording studio and so do Bar mitzvah boys preparing a gift video clip.
The studio also records outside
of the studio and is used by many schools for their end of year ceremonies.
The drum studio is very professional especially because of its superb acoustics. This means that there are many possibilities for learning. There are two drum sets so that both pupils and teachers can play together. There is also a computer plus PA sound system.
All types of guitar playing are taught including including classical, jazz, folk and rock. Ilan told me that ensembles are very good for the students, by playing together they develop to become much better musicians. My visit to Ilan was amazing. Both my children are young musicians. My daughter is learning to drum at his studio. I have placed a number of photographs below to show the special feeling of a man who loves his guitars, who is proud of owning such a special music studio, and I can definitely say that Ilan's studio is a truly magical feature of Buchman.
